»Staying at the LCB has an absolutely positive influence on me!«

What are you working on at the moment?
Now I’m working on the new novel. I hope the book won’t take as long as my previous one, F20, on which I worked for six years.

How does your stay at the Literary Colloquium Berlin affect you and your work?
Staying at the LCB has an absolutely positive influence on me! Because all my time belongs to me, I don’t have to do all the everyday routine I used to do at home in Moscow. That’s why I’m very productive.

What experiences will you take home?
In spite of my great admiration of German literature and German culture in general, it is my first visit to your fantastic country. And here I found out that German way of life and also way of thinking suits me very well! Here I have met many interesting, intelligent people, it was a great pleasure for me to talk to all of them, to discuss our, on the one hand, different and, on the other, quiet common cultural backgrounds. Thank you very much, it has really been a great opportunity for me.

The interview took place in June 2018.
